Just a quick hello to everyone who might pay attention to this little blog of mine, sorry for the lack of posts lately. A more interesting then this post is coming up soon. :)

In this Spring weather that has finally decided to grace us with it's presence, I have been wearing a lot of tights and shorts combos, these tights are one of a few pairs I stocked up on during a good clearance sale awhile back. My kitty Sweetie was very intent on making herself a model in my photographs. :)

One of my favorite things to do is walk up and down the isles of the Asian market and just grab random things that look interesting and buy them. 80% of the time I like what I get.

I especially like all the sweets and candies they sell, all so interesting and yummy!

Today my finds range from Snow Crackers (that taste sweet and salty at the same time, kind of like kettle corn) to Jell cups in various flavors with those addicting little jelled coconut squares.

They even came with little spoons.

This was a very strange/new flavor to me, it was pretty good.

If you didn't already know, I love sushi, I love making it and I love eating it.

I made some with tempura asparagus, cucumber, vegan cream cheese and tomago yaki, which is an asian seasoned omelet like egg thingy. (yes I'm vegan but I eat eggs on occasion only if they are from my neighbor or a local farm where I know the chickens were not harmed in any way and are happy free roaming chickens)

Today I went to the movies to see that new Red Riding Hood movie, it was pretty good :) A fun twist and some yummy men, plus Amanda Seyfried who is beautiful and on my favorite actress list.

Afterward me and my mom ate at a new Thai place in town, Thai Corner Cafe, I love it there! And they are very vegan friendly.

I got the yellow curry and it was AMAZING and spring rolls with the best peanut sauce ever. My mom got the tofu veggie soup. They also give you this really neat sweet tangy cucumber salad with a very unique flavor. After eating all the yummy curry fillings, I had sauce left so I asked for a to-go container and I got back this tiny adorable little box! :)

So, I haven't had much time for outfits lately, but I wore this amazing sweater again and switched it up and made it a little more feminine, I thought the look deserved a post. And it's been awhile since I last posted.

I have been watching quite a few Korean dramas lately and I have been working knee high socks and skirts/shorts into my wardrobe a lot as a result.
The inspiration comes from seeing the girls always in their school uniforms of skirts and socks.
I like the look and it's fun to wear.

I always get sort of excited when I buy new shampoo/bath products, and I do it often because I don't like to use the same thing for too long, I get easily bored of it. Today I got a passion fruit and guava one and it smells super yummy, I also got some yellow nail polish and a few things at our bargain bin thrift store. :)

Today I had a relaxing day of sleeping in, making chocolate chip pancakes, then napping with my cats, reading my latest 2 issues of W magazine, and lounging about lazily until I got out of bed and made some vegan shrimp and cocktail sauce for lunch. Ahhh, so nice. That is until my closing shift at work tonight....Sigh.

Oh, I should also mention, I woke up to a winter wonderland with ice sickles outside my window.
And after this month of spring like weather I have to get back into winter mode.
I always like how the snow makes everything so bright!

Well, I had such high hopes for today!

It's my favorite, and I had fun stuff like making cute desserts planned....

But that all went out the window when I woke up this morning, even after I saw my wonderful gifts waiting for me on my laptop. (can you say amazing chocolate?)

Because.....I have had the worst sore throat all day, and even during the night. I guess I'm sick. :(

It's completely ruined my lovely once a year day....But I still dressed up in my valentine's day outfit and went out to Forever21 for the sale they had going on and have been watching a Korean drama with my cousin Lina over the phone :)

Which definitely brightened my day.

I hope everyone's V day was lovely and fun. :)

Today has been a good food day.

For breakfast I had chocolate chip pancakes with soy whipped cream and strawberries, and then for lunch I just made this yummy tofu burger sandwich with Miso Mayo and mustard. Omg it was sooo good.

I love being vegan.

Today my outfit verges on the fancy side with this 1920's reminiscent dress.

I wore my hair pinned up to look like a bob cut and wore thigh high back-seamed hosiery and these vintage black buckle gloves.

Most of my posts lately have been about thrifting finds I've noticed, but I just keep getting lucky!

I found this small weekend/carry on suitcase to match my recent full sized find and I'm pretty excited about it.

I also got three rolls of fabric, each 99 cents and that was a neat find too.

I had gluten free pancakes with strawberries and soy whipped cream for breakfast, YUM.

Mmm, and these were the best strawberries I've had in....Years! Maybe ever?

And how randomly out of season.
I put hazelnut and raspberry flavored agave nectar on them too :)

I have decided to take up knitting/crocheting, and to start me off the lovely Lina has supplied me with her know how and this picture of me holding my starter kit :)

I have to tell 7 things about myself. Here goes:
1. I like to take vanilla (vegan) ice cream and mix, mix, mix it with peanut butter until it is completely creamed, and have done so since I was a little girl. It may look a little gross but it tastes AMAZING.
2. I have an obsession with tattoos, even though I may never get one because of the lack of nerve.
3. I love Japanese art and one of my very my favorite movies is Memoirs of a Geisha.
4. My favorite non-vegan item of food that I miss the most is smoked Gouda cheese.

5.I always secretly wished I was a mermaid.

6. This is the first time in my life I have never had any pet rodents of any kind.

(And I very much miss my tiny companions)

7. Jelly Belly sour watermelon belts are my favorite candy.

So I FINALLY got my much needed 2011 calender, I like to wait for them to go on sale and boy is it hard.

But I found this neat 365 days in Ireland one and it was only 4.99$ and oh so fun, don't you think?

It has all sorts of fun pictures and tid bits in it.

My want to go to beautiful Ireland only intensified the first time I found out I was part Irish.

I also made some gluten free (which is always difficult) baked donuts today, and they were a success!

Cinnamon sugar and glazed. Yum :)

I found this cute little clay jar thingy at the thrift store for 1$ and I am using it to put flowers in on my desk :)

I have this purple clover plant in my room and it grows tall then sadly droops.

And while I was at work the other day an idea hit me, we sell these swirly reed diffuser sticks that would be the perfect pretty little supports I was looking for for my little clover friends.

They were.

For dinner I made my own vegan version of an indian masala, I substituted the yogurt with soy and the cream with homemade cashew cream (which is AMAZING by the way, you can use it in anything) and silken tofu cubes in place of meat or paneer (cheese).

And it turned out pretty darn tasty! If I do say so myself . :)

I am also munching on my newly-arrived-in-the-mail Seitenbacher fruit munchies.

Yum, Vampires Lunch. :)

While shopping the World Market christmas clearance, I came across these super neat hanging candle holders, which I am using as incense burners.

Which is quite awesome if I do say so myself :)

They have the perfect little spot to put a cone incense in, and the metal parts are all carved out and lovely and perfect for the smoke to escape in all it's swirly smell goodness.

I bought this really nice rose scented incense at Hippies, the local store that I sell my dreamcatchers at.

I found this super awesomely adorably handy little bag-in-a-strawberry today at World Market.

It's perfect for shopping! It hangs fashionably on my purse and looks so darn cute, plus it saves me from using plastic bags.

They had all types of other fruit too, even a banana! But I thought the strawberry was by far the cutest.

I had a lovely day off from work in which I went to my favorite clothing exchange store, Junkee.

I bought three things, a romper with a cute nautical design, a vintage inspired green blouse, and a vintage 1960's dress with an adorable cat print. I love cats! If you didn't already know, I have 4 of them.

I also came across this amazing vintage suitcase for only 3.99$ I am super stoked about it.

As of late, all my new outfits have been compiled of thrifting finds.

Which are mostly over sized sweaters, as I have developed an addiction to them.

Especially in this cold snowy winter.

We didn't have a tree this year, and my brother ripped apart all my fancy wrapping before I could take photos.

We ate yummy veggy food, and I very happily stuffed myself to the extreme :-)

Today I went in for a haircut, well, a trim.

But when the lady went to frame my face, I told her an inch, maybe two, and she cut about SIX.

You can imagine my horror as my hair dropped to the floor and I realized it couldn't be fixed.....

The result? I actually, surprisingly, like.

It doesn't look freakishly weird that the front length differs drastically from the back, it's actually kind of pretty.

And oh so voluminous! So I can't complain.

And now I know what I look like with short hair, and I think I like it.

How was everyone's Thanksgiving?

Mine was lovely!

I drove to cali to my cousin Lina's house for my Thanksgiving and got to see all my great family and friends, and eat lots of yummy food! I had this amazingly yummy tofu "turkey" as we call it, my mom makes every year and some different vege-loafs and all the wonderful sides, including this amazing sweet corn cake mexican stuff.

I made two vegan pies to bring, apple and pumpkin. (the two furthest in the back in the photo)

Their house was so cutely decorated, with bunting and flowers.

And the mini dreamcatcher I made her. :)

This week I received my birthday gift from Lina!

It came all the way from Australia and she got it on Etsy.

It is a little handmade Totoro, and he was wrapped up so cutely in yellow tissue paper and a red ribbon.

I bought this white tee shirt at the Dollar Store for, well, a dollar. Can't beat that.
And drew on this mustache with a fabric marker.
I think it came out nicely.

Just thrifted this skirt yesterday, it has really neat pleat work that makes a really fun flowy silhouette.

And the print is great for layering.

This outfit is a combo of this neat blue/black vest thingy, and this dress from an earlier thrifting post.

I bought it specifically for the mesh layering possibilities.

Glove is an old vintage glove from my mom, which I cut off the fingers of because it is missing it's mate.

I think the shadow looks like cat ears ^_^

Right before I left, my aunt showed me all the neat beads she has, so I put a few in my hair. =)

Also, just bought these shoes today, I haven't bought new wedges in so long! I am excited.

Oh and this recent buy, velvet skirt from Forever21 I saw in their really neat new blogger shop section.

....Glass making

My aunt took me to a glass making factory today.

And to say the least I was entranced and fell completely in love with the art of it.

It was so amazingly neat and so so beautiful.

I think I want to be a glass blower :)

This woman is my favorite.

This artist's work was interesting, I love the rats!

(Im curious how they get the glass to look like it was painted)

And these look sort of like clay.

I really wish I could have afforded to buy something from the gift shop, but the prices were very high! Example, a less then 3 inch big figurine/hanging was 40 to 60$ and you can imagine the rest....

This hand was my favorite.

I am in love with this stained glass piece.

This is so awesome, I have always loved these ceiling hangings.

Went thrifting here in Kentucky today and found some finds :)

Some linen cropped pants, a black and tan waist belt, a bunch of purple fabric, (I'm thinking of making a dress out of) and this satin peachy creme vintage dress with a pretty lace cutout section across the waist.

One of the many tours we took last week included this trip to Churchill Downs Kentucky Derby Museum where we got a tour of the grounds and winners circle, saw a 360 movie called The Great Race, and then ate at the cafe which among the few things on the menu was a veggie burger :)

Well they hold an annual ball there where you wear costume's and dance, doesn't that sound like so much fun?

I also forgot to mention, that the mansion has an actual little elevator and we even got to ride in it.

......Old town Louisville

We went to check out old Louisville the other day, and it was really beautiful with all the rows and rows down streets of charming houses, all so unique and colorful with their beautiful architecture.

And the best part was the tour we got to take of the most beautiful house, well mansion, in all of Louisville.

This fireplace is made out of marble, and was shipped over from Europe along with most all the other furniture in the house from Mrs.caldwells 6 month excursion to Europe strictly for the purpose of furnishing her home.

Today we all played tourists and went to see some places such as Fort Knox, the Patton Museum,

(about all the different wars, where we saw a piece of the Berlin wall), Fort Duffield civil war site, (the houses were so TINY) and Abraham Lincoln's birth house/memorial.

Oh and there are TONS of butterflies everywhere! It must be the season or something.

They land all over you and start licking your skin, my cousin had one land on his hand and it wouldn't let go!

I am in Kentucky for the month of September, I'm staying with my aunt,uncle,and cousin that I rarely ever see. They invited me to spend some time here and I thought it would be a nice change of scenery (and I'm always looking for a reason to travel) I have my own little green room and I'm starting my unpacking and making it my own for the time I'm here. Tonight we sat out back by the fire pit and here are just a few random snapshots.....

I have always had an attraction to dreamcatchers for as long as I can remember.

And I have recently been thinking of making one myself and so I set out for the craft store, then printed a how to off the internet and followed it roughly to make my very first dreamcatcher!

I'm super pleased with how it turned out and I'm sort of really excited about it =D
